Fairies

There are more fairy paintings on this site than pictures of any other creature - a suspicious bunch of characters - dark, gothic fairies who lead little girls away from home; furtive fairies who hang round the toadstools to have a crafty fag; and then there are the poor mayfly fairies, living only a day in the air.
The Tooth Fairy is a particularly shady character, offering you money for your teeth, and as for the creature in the Djinn Bottle, well, I wouldn't let her out if I were you...
Then there's the Tattooed Fairy, who has been a particular favourite - even though she is not exactly a pretty face - strangely androgynous (as fairies probably should be). Another painting I'm fond of is 'The Bank Holiday Fairy - the poor thing sheltering from the usual August downpour, though if you visit her page and read the write-up you'll find she may be responsible after allā?¦ These two are probably quite intelligent, if truth be told, while this gallery houses a range of rather more stupid fairies, too - the fairy in the drawing 'Sitting on the Toadstools' for instance - a rather large creature who still firmly believes the myth but keeps squashing the toadstools in her attempt too perch prettily, and as for the creatures in 'Bauble' - my Christmas 2004 painting - well they probably shouldn't be let out on their own at all.
