This is one of a group of very small mezzotints which are my first experience with this fascinating, and nowadays slightly obscure, branch of printmaking. You can see the whole group of work here, plus links to some explanations as to what a mezzotint actually is.

Etchings: handmade prints
This image is an original print, strictly limited to only 16 prints (14 still available).
These images are printed by inking-up a handmade printing plate and are printed by hand, so there will be variations in tone from print to print. Some of the etchings in a print run also vary in colour. If you'd like more information about the particular prints of this image that I have available please contact me.
