William Blake-inspired Exhibition at Gallery Eight, Glastonbury, Somerset

22nd November - 2nd December 2007. Gallery Eight in Glastonbury held a themed exhibition to celebrate the 250th year of the birth of artist, poet and visionary William Blake. My contribution was a large drawing titled (after one of William Blake's 'prophetic' books) "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" (click the thumbnail to see this picture).

The Marriage of Heaven and Hell - drawing by Nancy Farmer

'Portraits of the Bizarre' - joint exhibition - Nancy Farmer and Lucy Hinds

28th April - 3rd June 2007 - Somerset Rural Life Museum, Glastonbury, Somerset, BA6 8DB , UK
Another Joint exhibition with Lucy Hinds. We had the gallery between the two of us and I managed to squeeze in 68 framed originals on the wall in my half - though many were small, it's probably the most I've managed to hang in a single exhibition.

Speaker at Glastonbury Symposium 28th July 2007

Held at the Town Hall, Glastonbury, Somerset, UK.
This was a curious event from me to be involved in since it's actually a 3-day conference "Investigating Crop Circles and Signs of Our Times" - however, I was asked to give a slideshow of my work, with a narrative, as a kind of entertaining diversion from the business of crop circles... Actually the entire 3 day thing was a lot of fun and really interesting, and though to date I've still not managed to get a crop circle into one of my pictures there could be an idea in there if only I could put my finger on it... For more information on the symposium visit their website at www.glastonburysymposium.co.uk

Group Exhibition: 'BloodRelative' at Paintworks, Bristol, UK - April 2007

This was an exhibition to raise money for the Diabetes UK Charity.
For more information visit the BloodRelative site at www.bloodrelative.org

Group Exhibition: 'Ooh La La' - Burlesque Inspired Art - March 2007

'View From The Top' gallery, Bridlesmith Gate, Nottingham NG1 2GR

I displayed the FetishDollies photographs in this group exhibition. If you haven't seen these, they have their own website at www.fetishdollies.co.uk.

Bridgwater Community Pantomime - January 2007

Bridgwater Arts Centre, Somerset, UK

Strictly speaking not an exhibition at all, of course, but as I designed the set and designed and made the costumes I thought it would be worth a mention!

Solo Exhibition: Tangerine Homes, 123 High Street, Street, Somerset - December 2006

I had a large display of paintings in the room upstairs.

The Quay Theatre, Sudbury, Suffolk - November 2006, 2003

This is the venue where I had my first exhibition ever, so it was great to be asked back again 3 years later. The exhibitions are organized by the 'Friends of the Quay'.

Somerset Arts Week – September 2006, 2004

An experiment here - but a successful one - how to turn your front room into a gallery... This was the first time I'd held an exhibition in my own home. Below is the transformation from lounge to gallery... most of this took a day, and then there was another 4 days of fiddling around, making notices, prices and re-arranging it all... turns out the disadvantage of having 5 days to set up an exhibition (a hitherto unheard of luxury) is that it takes 5 days to set up an exhibition....

Lounge minus sofas, but with all the mess still there:

Mess gone... as if by magic - a third of the room is hiding behind the sheet, with all the mess in it - turns out wooden beams are superb for this:

My gallery!

Somerset Art Week

All very pleasing and neat - I had had this as a plan for the last year and a half but never got a chance to test the theory before. There was even an upstairs 'gallery' in the corridor with all the Fetishdollies photographs in it - and a 'polite warning' before one went up... Occasional hoots of laughter were heard from upstairs, 'the stuff of dreams' said one visitor, glassy eyed... But the main exhibition was the paintings. Thanks to all who came, particularly on the night of the preview when Tony did such a fab job of keeping everyone supplied with wine. Having discovered a gallery in my own house I may use it again, before next Somerset Art Week comes round again in two year's time...

'Dollies & Divas' - exhibition at La Viande, London, May 2006

This was an exhibition featuring the paintings of Georgie Tier and my Fetishdollies photographs, and even a few of the dolls themselves.

La Viande, 3 Charlotte Road, London, EC2A 3DH

Strode Theatre, Somerset, September - October 2005

Joint Exhibition with Lucy Hinds
An exhibition of some 35 of my paintings, along with textile wall-hangings by Lucy Hinds

Bridgwater Arts Centre – “Mad-Eyed Kings and Coffee Breaks in Hell” – Somerset, April 2005

Joint exhibition with Lucy Hinds. My work consisted of some 40 or more paintings, though we found a suitably dimly-lit corridor where the Fetishdollies photographs could exist in their own seedy little enclave…

Brighton Fringe Arts Production – “Erotica Exhibition” – April to May 2005

There were neither paintings not photographs here, instead the Fetish Dollies themselves were invited to take part…

Erotica – London (Olympia), November 2005, 2004

I Exhibited for a couple of years running at this huge event in Olympia, it's a lot of fun but unfortunately the costs are very high and in the end I decided to stop doing this show.

The Skin Two Expo – London (Barbican Centre), October 2005, 2004

One exhibition where the visitors vie for attention with the exhibits... These were combinations of my most fetishy paintings and the Fetishdollies. For the 2005 exhibition I built a wall-hung cage from which the dolls could view the visitors (from the comfort of their own doll-sized sofa).

The Chandos Society – Annual and Summer Exhibitions – Somerset, Summer 2003 to present

The Annual exhibitions are held in the Bridgwater Arts Centre, the Summer exhibition in Crowcombe. I have generally exhibited a few paintings in each one each year.
