opening times:

'Exhibition at My House' - for Somerset Art Weeks, Somerset, UK

13th to 28th September 2008
I plan to be taking part in Somerset Art Week again this year. The venue will be the front room in my house, again, with the more 'risqué' items relegated to upstairs, for those brave enough to venture that way. Last year almost everyone ventured up the stairs, and sniggers, and occasional hoots of laughter were heard over the dolls photos, which live on my other website fetishdollies.co.uk There are some ladies in the village who tell me they can never look at an ironing board in quite the same way again...
The 'proper' paintings will be downstairs, and I'm planning on having a slideshow on continual loop throughout the event, which will show a few step-by-step photos of my paintings being created, for anyone interested in the technical side of it. This is in fact a handy way to make use of the monster telly that my partner has installed, which pretty much cannot be shifted from the front room ever again, but I hope it may also interest people, and be a lot more informative than showing you my actual studio, which is largely much full of boxes, junk, and computers. And of course I shall be on hand to talk to people.
The venue - my house - is next to the pub, in the village of Moorlynch (or Moorlinch, on many maps), Somerset, TA7 9BT. I'll put up directions nearer the time, or just look up the postcode. Sadly road signs will be in reduced numbers this year on account of bloody stupid government legislation, but that's another story...
Opening times will be everyday except Monday from 13th to 28th September. I cannot recall the actual hours off-hand, as the guidebook has not yet been printed in with the times in it - but I think it may be 11am-6pm - will amend this nearer the time if necessary!

'Hell and High Tea' - a short talk

October 11th 2008
I'm giving this talk to the Chandos Society at Bridgwater Arts Centre, Somerset, UK. Space is limited, however, if anyone is interested in attending please email me as there will probably be room to fit in a few extra. The subject is a ramble through some of my paintings, with notes on the habits and origins of demons, fairies and angels. The intention is to entertain, rather than to inform, though I also have a few step-by-step images of my paintings that I intend to show at the end, for those interested in the technical aspects.

I will be on the lookout for other venues as well, and it may be that something suitable will turn up at short notice. If you want to make sure you don't miss anything, email me and ask to be added to my emailing list. In the meantime the galleries below usually have something of mine in them:

permanent galleries

The 303 Gallery, Martock, Somerset, UK

I usually have work paintings in this gallery, which has work from many Somerset Artists and Makers.
In addition to paintings and drawings I also have a selection of hand-drawn button-badges - tiny pieces of wearable art - which are not currently available from anywhere else. Each is a one-off, and they're only £5.50
Here are some below:
