Jenny Graham’s paintings, etchings and drawings are a celebration of the regional landscape. Her interests lie in both the wildness of Nature and the landscape criss-crossed and sculpted by the interventions of agriculture and society. It is also a celebration of pattern, colour and design for which the natural world is a willing and rewarding motif.
After making quick sketches on-site, she refines and simplifies the image in her studio until it coincides with her memory of the place and the aesthetic demands of the picture plane.
She exhibits work in galleries throughout the region and has been commissioned by both Musgrove Park and West Mendip District Hospitals to create large scale paintings of the Somerset landscape for their ward entrance and boardroom as well as receiving many private commissions.
Her work is included in the book ‘Fifty Wessex Artists’ and she is a founder member of Somerset Printmakers. She lives on the Somerset Levels.
