Welcome to Moor Plants

‘Moor Plants’ is a nursery run by sisters Gilly Hayward and Jenny Hayward-Karlsson in Ashcott, Somerset.

Our aim is to help you create your own beautiful and productive garden by supplying a carefully selected range of unusual top quality plants. We specialise in hardy herbaceous perennials, bulbs, roses and annual plants which provide a range of colour, texture and scent over a long season. At ‘Moor Plants’ we also grow & sell young vegetable plants for ‘grow your own’ enthusiasts as well as cut flowers in season and a selection of shrubs to compliment our range of perennials.

We have a distinctive range of frost-proof pots, good plant supports and some wonderful gift ideas for gardens and gardeners.

If you need advice on garden design, planting schemes for borders and containers, have a question about plants, or just don’t know where to start, we are happy to help.

We also run occasional workshops and demonstrations in pruning, working with willow and Christmas wreaths & table decorations.

Find us in the heart of the Polden Hills, on the Bath Road (A39) at the western border of the village of Ashcott. ‘Moor Plants’ is on a pleasant site with a shop inside the glasshouse, an outdoor browsing area and a nursery ground where you can see mature plants displaying their full potential.

Our Seasons:

Spring

Spring bulbs, vegetable plants, new seasons perennials, unusual annuals for containers and borders.

Summer

All the plants you need for a long season of colour and scent: Roses, cut sweet peas and sunflowers, fresh vegetables from our nursery ground.

Autumn

Our own wallflowers, bulbs for autumn planting, pumpkins for autumn and winter eating, selected winter bedding and shrubs for winter interest.

Winter

Cyclamen, hellebores, plants for winter containers, Christmas gifts for gardens and gardeners and Christmas trees.
