Some dolls never grow old
This is something of a departure from the usual sort of thing. I took this idea from the story of the Hungarian Countess Elizabeth Bathory who, in a desperate and horrific attempt to preserve her youth, took to bathing in the blood of young girls, sometimes drinking the blood of the exceptionally pretty ones. She really did exist, and when finally stopped in around 1610, was said to have killed 600 girls - the last of whom were from noble families as she had found the blood of peasant girls was not working. The historic truth of the story is clouded by mystery and rumour, but a quick search on the web will turn up numerous stories for anyone who wants to read a few gruesome details.
So, anyway... I thought it would make an interestingly gothic photograph (the main difficulty of which was having to make the bath first) and in truth a certain doll has been with us for many years, and NEVER ages, so maybe something is going on...
No dolls were harmed in the process of making these photographs.
